This semester I tried Present.me for a presentation in my Curriculum Role of the Library Media Specialist class.  I like this presentation platform because it offers something a bit different from Prezi or PowerPoint.

With it, I was able to upload my presentation so that I can share it along side my video.  So basically, as I move through the slides, you will see me right next to them discussing my topic.  My presentation is on the Stripling Model of Inquiry and can be viewed below.  Please show some mercy as this was my first time.  I am not so pleased with the limitations on editing, so you will find parts of it to be choppy but I don't mind sharing my learning experience with you.

The White Darkness - Geraldine McCoughrean

LIS 535 Young Adult Literature

This is my first time using iMovie and I've never done a book trailer before either, so please have mercy on me. Take a look and let me know what you think.

All of the images (provided by iStockphoto) were downloaded from Microsoft's website.

Twitter!

I am now on Twitter (cmcarter36). I haven't made a lot of posts yet but I have begun to follow museums, libraries, school library organizations, authors, music artists, and sports teams. I also follow some of my family and friends. One of the advantages of following the various library networks is being in the know on what is current, trending, or relevant. I see that some post simultaneously on their Facebook and Twitter accounts. I haven't tried that yet and am not really sure that I will unless there's a way turn that feature on and off when I want to.

Google+

I keep seeing commercials and now my brother has invited me to try Google+. I figured I would give it a try considering I already use so many Google products: Blogger, Google Reader, Alerts, Maps, Calendar. Do any of you use it? I'm trying to figure out what I would want to do with it. Sometimes it seems a little tedious keeping up with my profiles on every platform (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
